Shoot 1

Filming diary

20/01/2020

Today was our first filming session, we decided to film the scenes of the conical flasks and beakers which contain unknown substances, we had to re film certain parts as we didn't have the stickers on the flasks which gave a indication of them being deadly to the audience. We also filmed our first shot of one of the main actors (Laila) picking up a flask using tongs. We were all getting a good idea of how to film and how do use different shot types. Today i was filming the scenes which is shown in the videos attached.

Shoot 3

Today we were filming more scenes of the flasks and beakers and perfecting the quality of the shots and making sure the lighting was perfect. We filmed a shot of the liquids being mixed together which i think gives a really good effect for our end product. On this day i helped with setting up the props and making sure we had all the equipment needed.

This was one of our most important filming sessions which we had to make sure we got right as Matty (one of our actors) had all the special effects make up on which would be very difficult for Carly to re create exactly. Luckily we got all the shots we needed for our thriller film opening. On this day i was helping with holding the belt down whilst jack was filming. I also helped with some of the filming evidence. Overall this was one of our most successful filming session as we had everyone we needed and all the shots came out really good.

Shoot 4

Shoot 5

28/01/2020

On this filming day we had to get the shots of Matty's forehead sweating and Laila opening the syringe packet. The shots of Matty's forehead will have to be re-shot at another date as they didn't turn out as good as we wanted them too, however the shots of Laila this day turned out amazing. I came up with the idea of using a pipette to drop water onto Matty's forehead to create the look of sweat dropping down.

Evidence of make up

04/02/2020

Today we re-shot the close up of the sweat on Matty's forehead. I was the person filming this day and i was responsible of making sure that the camera was in perfect position and good quality. This was the final filming session that we did and now we have all the shots we need to create our thriller film opening.

Failed shots

These are all shots that didn't make it into our thriller film opening, some reasons for this are the lighting doesn't work, the props are incorrectly placed and that they just didn't turn out as good as we had hoped. Therefore we looked back at these shots and decided to re-film or just cut them completely.
